School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) Subcommittees

Committees are made up of members of the SHAC, who have an interest in the subject area of the committee. The SHAC can create any committees necessary to carry out its work. Currently, there are three active committees within the SHAC, and these include Health Education, Health Services, and Behavior Health Committees.

The Health Education Committee reviews programs, organizations and speakers on a variety of health issues. For more information about this committee, please visit the Health Education Committee website page.  Meetings are held virtually the day before bi-monthy SHAC meeting from 2:00-3:00.

The Health Services Committee addresses topics related to school health services and provides recommendations to the larger SHAC for approval and appropriate action. The Health Services Committee meets monthly immediately before the SHAC meeting, in-person, at the same location as SHAC.

The Behavioral Health Committee advocates for social emotional wellbeing and provides mental wellness related recommendations to the larger SHAC for approval and appropriate action.  The Behavioral Health Committee meets virtually on the third Monday of every month.
