Enrolling your children in our schools is a simple process.

Just follow the 5 steps below.

Once completed, your child will be enrolled in their neighborhood, attendance-area school.

After they are enrolled, you will have the opportunity to explore other С³óߣ educational options such as magnet schools, magnet programs, or any other school with an open seat.

But remember - It starts with enrollment!

A kindergarten student must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1.

First grade students must have successfully completed kindergarten and be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1. Florida law requires all children ages 6-16 to attend school.

All registrants must provide valid documentation to include proof of age, Florida certification of immunization or exemption, record of physical examination, and proof of residency. See Step 2 for examples. 

Below are documents you will need to complete your child's enrollment. Gather these documents in advance to make the process smoother.

• Birth certificate or valid evidence of date of birth.
• Florida certification of immunization or exemption (see Immunization requirements below).
• Physical examination for all students who have never attended a Florida public or private school. Physical must be no more than 12 months old at the time of the student’s enrollment.
• Proof of guardianship (if applicable).
• Most recent report card if entering school from another district.
• Proof of Residence. Proof of residence can be established with two documents from Column A or with one document from Column A and two documents from Column B. Important: The address on all documents must match.
  
  • 15-day grace period: Children of families who are not able to provide proof of residence documentation at the time of enrollment may still attend class. Parents and guardians have 15 days to provide the documentation. If the documentation has not been provided within 15 days, the children must be withdrawn from school.
    

*Private lease agreement must be notarized AND two additional documents from column B are required.

Immunization requirements

The state of Florida requires certain vaccines to be administered before children can enroll unless there is certification of exemption for medical or religious reasons. When registering for school, parents should submit the which can be obtained from the child's health care provider.

You can complete the online. If you do not have a computer or internet access, you can get assistance at the main office of any Duval County Public School.

Look for your confirmation email from the school district.

• Your attendance area school will follow up with you within three business days to confirm enrollment and welcome you to their school community.
• That’s it! Your child is now enrolled in your attendance boundary school! They are ready to start classes, but there is still one more highly recommended step: Creating a linked parent account. This is explained in Step 5.

After you have completed the application for enrollment for your child, you should now create a parent account and link it to your children’s student accounts.

A parent account is important for granting your student permission for many school experiences, seeing your student’s grades and other academic information, and for taking care of many processes that are now done online. Remember, just visit your new school if you need any assistance or access to a computer or the internet.

There are four steps to creating the parent account. These steps are in place to ensure only legal parents and guardians are given access to their children’s information.

1. Complete the online .
2. Check your email for a note from FIMservice@duvalschools.org.
   1. Click on the 'Email Validation Link'.
   2. Your email account must be verified within seven days using the link from the email. If you do not see it, check your clutter or junk file in your email.
   3. We are now validating your account. Please wait up to 3 hours before proceeding to the next step.
3. Link your account to your child's account.
   1. Visit and log into your parent OneView account.
   2. Select "My Links" from the left margin.
   3. Select "Add a student to my account". Provide the requested information for the student.
   4. If you have multiple children, you can add each one's information by clicking "Add" and then click "Submit".
4. Visit your child's school to show proof of parent-child relationship.

Now you have access to OneView and Focus

Now that you have created and linked your account to your children’s accounts, you can log into OneView and see everything having to do with your child’s school experience. From OneView, you can also log into Focus, which is your portal for student records and many other forms and processes specific to your child.
