The Ortega Safety Patrol consists of several 5^th grade students who act as role models in both their conduct and their service to the school.  They have the responsibility of assisting in keeping the school campus safe, conducting daily flag raisings, participating in monthly flag raising ceremonies, and community service projects throughout the year.

The Ortega Safety Patrol conducts several fundraisers throughout the year such as school dances, candy sales, T-shirt sales, etc. to raise money toward an end-of-year trip to acknowledge their service to the school.
