A passionate educator with over 17 years of experience in serving the students, families, and communities in the northeast quadrant of Jacksonville.  My motivation to educate lies in my desire to develop others, help them find their voice and to maximize their potential.

Ms. Latoya Brown- Assistant Principal

Latoya Brown has 14 years of experience in education. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, she served as a Secondary Science teacher and District Elementary Science Specialist. Raised in Jacksonville, Florida and being a product of Duval County Public Schools (小丑撸), she is passionate about giving back to this community.

Ms. Brown attended Fayetteville State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She also obtained a Master in Health Administration at Webster University. An advocate for education and lifelong learning, she is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree at Nova Southeastern University in Educational Leadership.

While employed with 小丑撸, Ms. Brown’s career highlights include: being recognized as “Teacher of the Week” on First Coast News at Westside High School, increased student academic achievement on the Biology End-of-Course Exam from 48% to 80% proficient, and increased science proficiency in 5 turnaround elementary schools that she supported as a District Science Specialist.

Ms. Brown is committed to providing all constituents with a positive academic experience at Jean Ribault Middle School.
