• Headshot of Principal David Errico.

I am originally a native of Buffalo, New York. I received a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Education from Ohio University, where I received an award for Educational Excellence. Upon graduation, I was accepted into the prestigious Teach for America program whose goal is to help end educational inequality in America. I was then placed in Jacksonville, where I began teaching 8th Grade American history at Eugene J Butler Middle School. During this time, I became a Chief Onboarding Advisor for Teach for America, where I helped prepare and train future educators to teach in Duval County.

In 2014, I began teaching civics at the Young Men’s/Women’s Leadership Academy.  During this time, I helped lead my students to some of the highest civics proficiency in Duval County. I continued my journey in education by attending the University of North Florida and received my Master’s in Educational Leadership. In 2017, I took the role of Assistant Principal at Joseph Stilwell Military Academy of Leadership where we worked to improve student proficiency and culture for 5 years.

All these incredible experiences have led me here to Westside Middle School. I bring to Westside a passion and appreciation for learning and educational experiences. It is my goal that every student at Westside is prepared for high school and develops to their fullest potential, not only leaving with high marks on assessments, but finding a passion in an extracurricular activity or interest.

I am a lifelong educator who is extremely passionate about providing students with a memorable and educational middle school experience while also providing a safe and welcoming learning environment for every student in the building. I am a fan of personal fitness, sports, and a huge fan of comic books! I am extremely honored and excited to be your Principal!
