    Dear Parents,

It is with pleasure that we welcome you and your child back to school.  We are all looking forward to a very exciting and rewarding year at Abess Park where “Learning gives us Superpowers!”  In order to provide our students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, we have developed the attached Schoolwide Discipline Plan.  This discipline plan will be in effect at all times.

It is in your child’s best interest that we work together concerning his/her education.  We have already discussed this discipline plan with your child but would appreciate it if you would review it, and the Code of Student Conduct with him/her.  Several updates were made to the Code of Conduct for Elementary Students this school year after gathering feedback from all stakeholder groups within the 小丑撸 community.

Also, the Duval County Public Schools definition of bullying is: Bullying means systematically and chronically inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more students or employees.  It is further defined as unwanted, purposeful and repeated written, verbal, nonverbal, electronic, or physical behavior, by a student or adult, that is severe or pervasive enough to create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment; cause discomfort or humiliation; or unreasonably interfere with the individual’s school performance or participation; and is often characterized by an imbalance of power. You may reach the district Bullying Report Hotline at 390-CALL (390-2255) and access Bullying/Harassment reporting form through the FOCUS Parent Portal.

    Thank you for your support.

    Sincerely,

    Kristin M. Shore
