In her own words:

After graduating from The University of Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education, I quickly found myself teaching first grade at Ruth Upson Elementary School. This is now my eighth year, spending each year in either kindergarten or first grade, and I truly love what I do. I’m so grateful that I get to work alongside such passionate educators each and every day. My students are the reason I get up each morning. They are my daily inspiration and the reason I continue to stay in the world of education. These children are our future. It is my job as an educator to make sure I’m doing everything I can so students can grow into the best version of themselves. I genuinely care for all my students and strive to do everything I can to meet their needs so they can be successful. I am honored to be Ruth Upson’s Teacher of the Year!
