New Worlds Reading Initiative
New Worlds Reading Initiative: This initiative will deliver a free, grade-level appropriate book to qualifying students through the mail each month until the end of fifth grade. The high-interest books arrive with tips for family members to support their student’s reading at home. Parents or caregivers simply go to to enroll their student and start receiving your books! Step Up for Students Reading Scholarships: This program offers parents/guardians access to education savings accounts, worth $500 each, to pay for tuition and fees related to part-time tutoring, summer and after-school literacy programs, instructional materials (including desktop/laptop computers and tablets and curriculum related to reading or literacy. Parents and caregivers can register now to be on the “interest list” and be notified when the site opens to begin receiving applications.
