Registration and Smart ID Badges

Does my student have to be registered for the bus to ride the bus? 

  • Parents are asked to register their students to help ensure that only eligible students are placed on the school bus roster.  Parents, not students, must sign into FOCUS and register their children to ride the bus. The registration process allows the Transportation team to assign students to a specific bus, bus stop and stop time. Students who are not registered to ride the bus are not authorized to be on the bus.

Why do I need to register?

  • To transport students between their home and school more efficiently, transportation must be requested through the parent portal in FOCUS. The registration process will allow Transportation to assign students to a specific bus, bus stop and stop time.   This process also helps us to ensure that there is enough space on the bus to accommodate the number of students assigned.

When will students be required to use their student ID to tap on and off the bus? 

  • Students are currently required to use their ID when entering and exiting the school bus.  

Will my student be allowed to ride the bus if they don’t have their ID? 

  • Yes; however, according to the Code of Student Conduct, not having an ID is the student's failure to follow instructions on the school bus. 

My student has a smart ID badge. Why am I unable to monitor their bus? 

  • At this time, the Transportation team is testing a new app, called Edulog, which will enable parents to see when their child boards on and off the bus.
