Dean Johnson
  • Meet the Dean

     

    Keith Johnson was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended local elementary and secondary schools of New Orleans. He is a proud graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU), where he played college football and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.  He also obtained his master’s degree from Southern University in Mass Communications. Another one of his accomplishments is that he received a specialist degree from Nova Southeast University in Educational Leadership.

    His teaching career began in 1998 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his focus was teaching Social Sciences in the secondary setting. After relocating to Jacksonville, Florida in 2007, he began working for Duval County Public Schools. Currently, he is the Dean of Students at Asa Philip Randolph College & Career Academies. Mr. Johnson has worked in various teaching capacities at several schools within 小丑撸. He has also coached several sports within 小丑撸, which include football, basketball (Middle School Championship winner), as well as track and field.

    In his leisure time, he mentors students and is also a part of the “5000 Role Models” program that mentors young African American males. He’s a single parent and a proud father of two daughters ages 12 and 18: his oldest will be attending Chatham University on an academic and athletic scholarship.

    He enjoys traveling with his daughters to various locations across the country. He is also a proud and active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated since 1994, an undergraduate of Louisiana State University. Mr. Johnson is passionate about education and seeing young people attain their goals. He believes in treating all students as if they were his own children.
