    ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

     

    8:00 AM is the earliest students should arrive to school. Please do not drop off students before this time as there is no supervision available unless the student is enrolled in the AM Extended Day Program.

    Breakfast is available for all students in the cafeteria from 8:00 to 8:25 am.

    All Pre K and Kg students report to the cafeteria between 8 - 8:25 am. Students will sit with their class until the first bell rings. Students are supervised by ABE staff. Students are escorted to their classrooms by ABE staff.

    1st and 2nd grade students will sit in the hallways outside of their classrooms until the bell rings at 8:25 am. Students should sit quietly and read. Students are supervised by ABE staff and our Safety Patrols.

    3rd - 5th grade students report to the basketball court between 8 - 8:25 am. Students are allowed to walk the track, play basketball, play four square and/or swing. Students are supervised by ABE staff.

    Walking and Bicycling: Students are encouraged to walk and bicycle to school. Students should enter through the back gate (Poinsettia Drive) or through the front entrance (Sherry Drive). There is a crossing guard on Sherry Drive and also at the corner of Seaspray and Seminole.

    Buses: In order to provide a safe environment for our bus students, DO NOT
    drop off students in the bus circle between 8:00 and 8:30

    Car Riders:
    If you are bringing your child to school, please use the car rider circle or park in the parking lot and walk your child into the school.

     

     

     
    DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
     
    In order to fully maximize instructional time, all students will be released at 3:00 pm.

     
    Car riders will be dismissed from the cafeteria. 
     

    Bus riders
    will be dismissed to the front of the school to load their bus.  Students attending offsite day care centers, such as the Boys and Girls Club, will also be dismissed to the front of the school. 
     

    Extended Day students
    will be dismissed to their assigned areas. 
     

    Walkers and bike riders
    will be dismissed to the back of the school (Poinsettia Street) or to the front of the school. A crossing guard is there to cross the students across Sherry Drive. There is also a crossing guard at the corner of Seaspray and Seminole.

    A written note is required for any change of dismissal other than your child's daily routine.
     If there is an emergency and you have to call to change how your child will go home, please call before 1:00 pm to make sure that we have enough time to notify your child's teacher of the change.

    Early Checkout: If you need to check your child out of school early, please do so by 2:30 pm.

    DO NOT PARK in the bus circle between 2:00 - 3:15 pm.
     We have buses that come early for our preschool students. You are liable to receive a ticket for parking in the bus circle during dismissal time.

    All parents should remain outside of the school until your child is dismissed.
