Greetings Southside family,
I am thrilled to continue serving the community of Southside Middle School as your principal! We have a lot of exciting things in store for the 2023-2024 school year ahead and invite you all to take an active role in the experience. This year, we will be further developing what it means to be a KNIGHT in all aspects of our work together - in classes, in extracurricular activities, and in our character reflected in everything else we do. It will take all of us - administrators, teachers, staff, community members, parents, and students - to work together to make Southside the strongest we can be. We will also make school safety through the lens of "felt safety" and social and emotional health a priority this year as we address overcoming trauma and self-regulation of emotions to ensure we are ready to learn and succeed. I look forward to sharing more information through this website and through school events about opportunities to do just that. Jennifer Crady brings over fifteen years of experience in education to the Southside Middle School family. She taught English for many years in both Middle and high school settings, and then went on to serve as an instructional coach working with teachers to improve their teaching practices. Following that experience, she continued her work as an assistant principal for five years before becoming principal.
Outside of work, she enjoys music and spending time with family and friends. She especially loves her dog, Harper, whom she named after the author of her favorite book that she first read in middle school.
