The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities, who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.  Palm Avenue School supports the mission of Special Olympics by offering many opportunities for our students to participate in Special Olympics activities and events.  Sports are offered seasonally, with 8 weeks of practice preceding local County competition, followed by Area competition, and culminating with State competition.  There are opportunities for individual as well as team competition.

    Athletics (Track & Field):  January-May
