Safety Patrols (5th grade) are a select group of students that are committed to providing a safe school environment for all students at Rufus E. Payne Elementary School.  A Safety Patrol member should be responsible, respectful, cooperative, and helpful. They should always model CHAMPS expectations. Members of the Safety Patrols must remain in good academic standing in all subject areas and model good behavioral choices. 

Duties include:

• Hallway monitoring
• Assisting students as they exit cars during arrival time 
• Assisting students as they enter cars during dismissal time
• Helping students get to class or designated areas without running
• Assisting/working cooperatively with adults in assigned areas 
• Greeting parents and guests.

 

Student Council

Student council is comprised of 3rd - 5th grade students who are elected by their classmates to represent their classrooms. Each classroom has a representative and an alternate. Student council members work together on service projects for our school and our community. These projects include but are not limited to food drives, clothing drives, and so much more.

G.L.O.W

GLOW is to inspire girls in our school to grow in terms of their social, emotional, and physical wellbeing! GLOW leads girls to an increased awareness of their strengths, self-esteem, and provides them with the tools fundamental to becoming role models and prominent leaders for others. GLOW also empower girls by providing them with an opportunity to gain self-confidence and enhance skills necessary to become effective and influential leaders in their community.
