The Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. Academy of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering will afford dozens of Englewood students the opportunity to earn, in addition to their high school diploma, an Associate of Science Degree (AS) in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering from Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). The Academy is a Dual Enrollment program that provides college coursework on the high school and FSCJ campuses, resulting in credits that meet both high school and college requirements. The partnership with Johnson & Johnson Vision Care will provide students with mentors, participation in paid internships at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care during the final two summers of high school, and be offered “priority interview status” for employment opportunities at the conclusion of the four-year program.  Students will also be given the opportunity to be transported from the Englewood Campus to the FSCJ Downtown campus during their 11th and 12th grade year.

The Academy provides coursework resulting in college credit, relationships with professionals in the STEM field, work experience through internships in the STEM field and preparation to go directly into a STEM related career upon completion of the program.
