Tips for Success in Fifth Grade

• Know your multiplication facts fluently.
• Know how to multiple 2 digit by 3 digit.
• Read at least 3 books over the summer. You can receive credit for your books by completing the summer reading log and bringing it back to school in August. Remember 150 pages equals one book.
• Practice measuring. Weigh fruit at the grocery store, help your parents cook, or use a tape measure or ruler to measure things around your house.
• Know your Focus password and become familiar with checking it on a regular basis. Know your computer log in.
• Practice keyboarding skills and searching on the internet. Familiarize yourself with OneView.
• Practice using Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Sway.
• Parents, having an email account will be helpful for staying informed.
• Come with all your supplies on the first day.
• Relax, have a fun summer, and come ready to learn in August!
