Welcome to our school counseling program. We believe that every student, parent & staff member should be treated with dignity and value. We strive to provide services through a comprehensive school counseling program. As your school counselor, Mr. Gainey pays close attention to the students in our building and how they "connect" to the education which helps them grow academically, socially and emotionally. He support students, parents and staff by problem-solving issues that may post an obstacle to the learning process and/or student achievement.

How does your child experience school counseling services?

Topics are based on the needs of the students and may include: family changes, grief & loss, friendship &social skills, study skills, conflict resolution, anger management, self-esteem, and stress-management.

    • Classroom Counseling - To develop and implement K-5 classroom curriculum driven by national and district school counseling outcomes.  To often co-plan and co-teach lessons with other professionals in the building to support social and emotional growth across curricular areas.  Classroom lessons are regularly scheduled and address social/emotional, academic, and career-related needs at students' developmental levels.

    • Academic Interventions - To provide academic interventions to enhance student success. To work individually with students on thier time management skills, study skills and organization. To work with teachers to provide interventions unique to each student's specific needs, in order to ensure that every student will excel to their highest academic potential.

    • System Support - To provide assistance with connecting students & parents with outside community agencies (i.e. Full Service) to provide support for families.
