    Great Sunday TLAM family!

This is Principal Williams. A special thank you goes out to our outstanding PTSA for facilitating our Wolf Den, PBIS store last week. The students enjoyed spending their earned badges on the wonderful incentive items provided by you. This week, we will celebrate our teachers to include our staff for all of their dedication and commitment to the students of Twin Lakes and school community. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I am asking if you would please take a moment to show your appreciation for your child’s teachers in whatever way you choose to do so. On Tuesday, May 7th we will kick off our state Reading assessment with sixth and seventh graders and on Wednesday, May 8th eighth graders will be assessed. We want a 100% of our students tested during their scheduled date. Therefore, regularly attendance is important during this testing season. Please see the electronic copy of our May testing calendar to plan accordingly for PM appointments. We do plan for emergencies with our make up days, but we prefer to assess our students on their designated scheduled date to avoid testing fatigue. We will continue with our school wide spirit week with Pajama Day on Monday, May 6th. Students are allowed to wear dress code approved pajamas on Monday to show they are committed to getting enough sleep the night before testing begins only as a part of the spirit week. Remember, we still have Varsity Tutors through the blending platform to support learning. It’s easy and accessible to all Twin Lakes students.

From the desk of our Yearbook advisor, Ms. Canepa, yearbooks will arrive in the next week or two. The online sale is no longer available, but students can purchase a copy by bringing $33.00 (exact change) to Ms. Canepa in room 123. Students will need a hall pass from their teacher in order to purchase a yearbook from Ms. Canepa as she will provide them with a receipt to reserve their yearbook for pickup when they arrive. Yearbook sale will start on Thursday, May 9th and the time allotted for purchase is from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

From the desk of our Camp Timberwolves Director, Ms. Mallory, the registration for Camp Timberwolves is now open. The camp will be from June 10th through July 26th from 7am to 5:30pm. Students will enjoy fun, engaging activities daily with field trips planned every day. For more information or to reserve your spot, please reach out to Ms. Mallory at malloryl1@duvalschools.org or (386) 383-4892.

As we transition to the seventh week of the fourth nine week grading period, I have a few reminders. Twin Lakes is a clear or mesh backpack school. If you need to speak with your child, please call the school or you can email me or AP Copeland at copelandd@duvalschools.org. I am asking for your support to not text or call your child during the instructional day. Students are to come to school daily with their school planner, student ID, and a clear or mesh backpack. Please review the weekly activities calendar on our school website to plan accordingly for any upcoming dates. If you have any questions regarding athletics, please email AD Larry Edwards at edwardsl2@duvalschools.org or Dean Story at storyg@duvalschools.org. Please join our great body of parents, teachers, and students as we work together in Building an A+ PACK Mentality at our next PTSA/SAC meeting on Thursday, May 9th at 1:00pm in the media center. We had to adjust our meeting date and time, so thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility. Have a PACKful week!
