Edward Waters University (EWU) is distinctively the state of Florida’s first independent institution of higher learning. Duval County Public Schools has partnered with Edward Waters University since the 2014 to offer select dual enrollment courses on the high school campus.
Course options available on the high school campus vary by high school and from year to year. To learn more about the courses being offered at a particular high school, please contact the school’s designated high school dual enrollment coordinator.

For academic courses, students must be in Grade 11 or 12 and
- have a 2.5 cumulative unweighted GPA or higher and a B average (3.0) or higher in subject area courses;
OR
- have a 2.0 unweighted GPA or higher with the completion of SLS1103 with final grade “C” or higher and a B average (3.0) or higher in subject area courses.
Note:
- No minimum test scores are required.
- Students must take SLS1103 within the first two semesters of participation in dual enrollment with preference being that the course is taken during the first semester.
