My name is Cecilia Robinson-Vanhoy, and I have been the Principal at Axson since 2012. Before that, I was the Principal at John E Ford for two years (2010) and the Assistant Principal at John E. Ford for 5 years (2005).

In my career I have taught: Elementary Education, ESE, Gifted, and Montessori. I am trained and have a Montessori Credential in the following age groups: 3-6, 6-9, and 9-12. My original training was from the North Carolina Montessori Teacher Education Program when they came to Duval County to train teachers at R.V. Daniels Elementary. Then, when I was at John E. Ford, I received training in 6-9 and 9-12 from Barry University. During that time, I had a bachelor’s in education, a Master’s in Elementary Education, and ED.S. in Educational Leadership. I hold certifications in: Emotionally Handicapped, Gifted, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, and Principal, all levels.

I am committed to the Montessori Method and philosophy. Our program is unique. We are a successful Magnet Program and have been an A school since the school opened. I look forward to leading the school through another great year.

I have been married for over 30 years to my husband, Joe, and we have one daughter, Kimberly.
