Assistant Chief Sean M. MacMaster

  • Prior to joining the Duval County School Police in 2018, Sean worked for the Detroit Police Department, MI, Gainesville Police Department, FL, and the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, where he obtained the rank of Captain. 

    During Sean’s years of Law Enforcement service, he has worked in Patrol, Narcotics, CID-Fraud, RICO and Money Laundering cases, Illegal Gambling, Stolen Property, Training Unit, Mobile Field Force and as a Community Resource Officer.

    In 2018, with the Duval County School Police Department, Sean was the Head of Operations of the Eastside, consisting of Zones 2,3, & 6. He then transitioned to the Administration Lieutenant position in 2021. As the Administrative Lieutenant, he was the Commanding Officer of the Recruitment and Selection Unit, Police Communications Division, and Emergency Preparedness, while assisting Chief Burton with School Safety Specialists duties for the District. In March of 2023 he then transitioned back to Head of Operations for the Westside.

    In November of 2023 he achieved the rank of Assistant Chief.

    Sean is a graduate of the 70th Session, University of Louisville Southern Police Institutes-Command Officer Development Course in 2014.
