• SCHOOL BREAKFAST PROGRAM (SBP)

Breakfast is served at NO CHARGE for students in all Duval County Public Schools!!

In addition to the traditional cafeteria-based breakfast model, schools may also use an alternative breakfast model. For example, “Breakfast in the Classroom” involves serving the breakfast meal to children during a morning class, often while the teacher is taking attendance or giving classroom announcements. Schools operating “Grab & Go Breakfast” use mobile food carts to serve children a “to go” breakfast before school or during a morning break.

The is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and non-profit private schools and residential child care institutions. The SBP started in 1966 as a pilot project and was made a permanent entitlement program by Congress in 1975.

FRESH FRUIT & VEGETABLE PROGRAM (FFVP)

The is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded program that provides free fresh fruits and vegetables to students in select eligible elementary schools during the school day outside of the normal breakfast or lunchtime.

The purpose of the program is to introduce students to fresh fruits and vegetables, to increase the variety and overall acceptance of fruits and vegetables that children eat, and to positively influence their life-long eating habits. We proudly serve a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables through the FFVP at several schools during the school year.

    SUPPER PROGRAM

The provides supper meals to give a nutritional boost to children, including teenagers through age 18 in eligible afterschool programs in every state.

When school is out and parents are still at work, children need a safe place to be with their friends with structured activities and supportive adults.

Afterschool programs that serve meals and snacks draw children and teenagers into constructive activities that are safe, fun, and filled with opportunities for learning. The food gives them the nutrition they need to learn and grow.
