     Duval County Public Schools is offering Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) at no cost to families residing in Duval County. HIPPY provides in-home training and resources for parents to engage their preschoolers in activities designed to be fun and interactive while focusing on critical skills like:

    • Reading

    • Writing

    • Mathematics

    • Science

    • Language Development

    • Social and Emotional Learning

     

    HIPPY believes that a parent is a child's first and most influential teacher. We provide 30-weeks of research-based curriculum, books & supplies, at no cost to your family. HIPPY helps parents develop background knowledge of child development and educational terminology to build your confidence in understanding how to be an advocate for your child’s education. Studies of HIPPY participants have found elevated learning outcomes reaching 3rd grade and beyond. 

     

     To qualify for HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters):

    • Families must provide proof of participating in state benefits such as SNAP/Medicaid. OR

    • Families provide proof of income falling within poverty guidelines.
